beljob.ca / nicejob.ca

...the former Actijob is now nicejob.ca (English) or beljob.ca (French). They index the listings found on participating sites and put them in a central location. You apply directly to the employer. They occasionally scan the links to be sure the postings they link to are still there.

Anne Whitten Bilingual Human Resources Inc.

...general placement firm located in Toronto, Canada, specializing in English/French bilingual employment. Check their list of Hot Jobs for the most recent postings or submit a resume for further consideration. All job listings are dated.

Apprenticeship.com

...a service of the Halton Industry Education Council and the Canadian Government, this site offers free information on apprenticeships. There are articles on hiring trends and skill demands, marvelous information on each trade, an employability skills quiz, and much more. This site covers opportunities in the Kitchener/Waterloo (includes Cambridge, Guelph, Listowel, Mitchell, St. Marys and Stratford), Peel-Halton-Dufferin, Hamilton, Niagara and Brant/Brantford-Haldimand-Norfolk areas. I hope it expands as it is a marvelous tool.

CACEE: The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers

CACEE is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career services professionals similar to NACE in the US. This website offers information, advice, and services for its members. Students and non-members have access to a schedule of career fairs and networking events, links to select recruiters and career websites, and Career Options, a free magazine filled with career advice for students.

CanadaWorkPermit.com

...contains significant information for persons hoping to obtain work permits for this country. Register to participate in their free forums or apply for a free assessment of your eligibility to obtain a temporary work visa for Canada.

CanadianCareers.com

....jobs and employment/career info for Canadians. Very nice selection of occupations with references to sources for finding even more info and jobs. Job seekers will also want to check the News and Events page for info on upcoming career fairs and internship deadlines. Very nice, well rounded site covering all facets of career and employment info for Canadians.

Canadian Executive Recruitment

...recruiting professionals in Engineering, Operations/Production, Logistics/Materials for a variety of Canadian manufacturing areas. Take a look at his suggestions for interviewing, resumes, and follow-up letters.

...nice gateway to hundreds of jobs for Canadians. You can work from the main page or choose to go into their provincial databases and avoid the other stuff. As usual, the IT jobs are the most prevalent, but they are not the only jobs here. The links to additional sources are uneven, but those that link to specifically Canadian companies, employment agencies, and other sources look good.

Career Edge

...a private sector not-for-profit organization founded by Canadian employers offering 6, 9, or 12 month internships to recent graduates of university, college and high school.

CareerPlace

A job search support service for Aboriginal persons in Canada. Job seekers can register for assistance and access to the online job database. CareerPlace is an initiative of the Native Women's Association of Canada.

Charity Village

"...Canada's busiest source for nonprofit jobs." It includes hundreds of job listings and continuing ed opportunities for the sector. Browse the jobs by the posting date or search by keyword.

eJobs Canada

...pretty good looking database for this country. You can keyword search the job listings, or browse listings by city or industry. Do all the searching you want without registering, but you will need to register (free) to apply for positions listed here.

Employment News

...online companion to the free newspaper found all across Ontario (Canada). Select a job category to see all positions in that category, but you can cut this down to just those listings in your region. In addition, the site offers job tips, resume tips, employer profiles, school profiles (for your education and training needs), and news and events. There is also a resume database too which employers access through a separate login.

Extreme Jobs

...while they span industries and occupational families, this Canadian job board also has a separate area for Resort and / or Adventure jobs. Users can freely review and apply for jobs posted here without restrictions.

Human Resources and Skills Development Canada -- HRSDC / HRDCC (was HRDC / DRHC)

The former HRDC / DRHC has been divided into 2 agencies. This one is the employment service for Canada, including central and regional services. In addition to the job bank, other information on unemployment, training programs, and how to search for a job is included. (Workers will also want to look at the Department of Social Development for information on unemployment and other benefits.) HRSCD / HRDCC also maintains the following employment services:

...a nice resource with jobs, a free resume database, and career information.

Training & Careers

...straightforward, easy-to-use interface to assist Canadians in finding work and developing a career. You’ll find strategies for evaluating your next steps in the career process, financial assistance, and job leads. Recent immigrants can get help in the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. The Gateway link offers one stop shopping for Canadians in search of human services and helpful consumer, business, and education information, all searchable by audience or topic.

National Research Council -- Conseil national de recherches du Canada

...Canada's premier science and technology research organization. They have listings for experienced scientific professionals as well as students and recent graduates. They list about 30 new positions each month, each listing staying active for about 2 weeks.

Nevian Consulting & Placement Services Inc.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Nevian specializes in the recruitment and placement of bilingual professionals in a variety of disciplines. Some "unilingual" positions also available.

Now Hiring

...jobs, most of which are in the Calgary, Alberta area. You can search the database and review the listings without registering, but will need to register (free) in order to view the application info.

...search this site by keyword (title / skill / location), or scan all the jobs, but that will take you some time.

Positionwatch Information Technology Employment Network.

...IT jobs in Canada. Search by keyword or check the employer list.

Possibilities Project

...virtual employment center for jobseekers in Toronto. Free registration is required for users to access almost everything except for some articles on the front page. However, registration only means giving them your name, phone number, and email address. It does not mean posting your resume, so I recommend you go ahead and register. What you will find in here is well worth the minute spent filling out their short form.

"The Provincial Health Authorities of Alberta Virtual Recruitment Fair." Look for all kinds of healthcare and medical positions in the province of Alberta. Besides the job listings, you can review all kinds of information about living and working in Alberta.

Canadian guide to information and news from all over the country. Check out the business section for great career articles.

Working.canada.com (was CareerClick)

... job leads from many of Canada’s daily newspapers. Search for jobs by category and location, or use the advanced search to limit the dates and newspapers searched. You can also register to post your resume or have job listings sent to you via E-mail. At the time of review, some of the events and external links were out of date.

Workopolis.com

..."Canada's biggest jobsite." I am inclined to believe them just by looking at the front page. Search jobs by keyword, location, date, or who's "Now Hiring". Take a look at some career resources. Registration is not required to search the jobs, but if you register you can save searches and set up a CareerAlert email service. Registration is also free and does not require you to submit your resume unless you want to. Great resource center, full of articles and advice. A service of the Globe and Mail, I believe.

workopolisCampus.com

...Canada 's biggest job site for students and recent graduates. Registration is required, and you must obtain a special access code from your campus career center in order to view job postings.

Canada's WorkInfoNet / Info-Emploi

After nearly a decade of service, the national WorkInfoNET has ceased operation as the primary source of career and training information for Canadian job seekers and career changers. However, the following provincial agencies still offer these services and resources for you.
