Beware of your Presentation at your next Job Interview

Every time you go to a job interview, you want to show the employer that you are ready to work. This means that you should always try to look as professional as possible, even if you're not wearing a business suit. The trick is to always have a good presentation.

You shouldn't forget that is very important to be well cleaned and groomed:

  • Take a shower or bath.

  • Brush your hair and teeth.

  • Avoid fragrances entirely.

  • Don't forget to shave and clean your fingernails

  • Make a special notice to your breath. Avoid alcohol, onions and garlic, both that day and the day before

Your appearance is not the only aspect of that is important. When you choose your clothes, try to make the best impression:

§         Wear clothes that are clean and neatly pressed.

§         Avoid anything tight-fitting and clingy.

§         Select pants that are the appropriate length. Your pants should cover the ankle, but not drag under the heel of your shoes.

§         Select a dress or skirt that is no more than two inches above your knee.

§         Select a tie that, when knotted, reaches the middle of your belt buckle.

§         Clean and polish your shoes.  Before your interview, double-check that they are free of mud, debris, and scuffs.

§         Avoid too much jewelry and accessories that can be flashy.

Remember, it's usually better to be over-dressed than too casual.

Good Luck!!

The secret behind a successful interview is... Preparation

That's right. Preparation is the lead factor to a great job interview. But how do you prepare yourself for that interview? Many people find that this is the hardest part of the hiring process. But it doesn’t have to be. Before you start that process, you should prepare very carefully to an interview that can change your life. Practise in front of a mirror or with a friend until you feel more relaxed and confident

Gather as much Information about the company as you can

Find out all you can about the company before you go to the interview. Understand their business field, dimension, types of products or services available, organization and and how they work, types of qualifications that they have, etc. It’s also good to know who the customers are and who the major competitors are.

Your Resume or CV

Read your resume or CV several times until you practically memorized it, and get ready to explain in detail every aspect of it, like your professional experience, degree and extra professional experience.

Prepare Documentation

Prepare any documentation that you fell necessary to show at your job interview (diplomas. school certificates, other jobs, your professional book of clients, cover letters, letters of recommendation). The interview is your chance to show that you are the best person for the job.

Check your time

Don't forget to check the date, time and place of the interview, and arrive early, by about 10 minutes. Get ready for the possibility of having to face more than one interviewer. Present yourself in a clean way (clothing, shoes, hair, nails and well shaved). Don't forget to be enthusiastic and confident. Shake hands firmly and don't sit until you're invited to do so. Keep your back straight, be an active listener  and maintain eye contact. Answer with determination to the employee. You should always be prudent and show some reservation if your addressed about your personal life. If you have any questions about the salary, they should be done at the end of the interview.

Say "thank you"

After the interview, follow up with a thank-you note. This is a chance for you to restate your interest and how you can benefit the company. Your best bet is to try to time it so that the note gets there before the hiring decision is made Here you can check some examples
